The fit matters as well as the specification
Euro cylinders are available in different lengths and configurations. The correct choice depends on the door, handle furniture and whether the inside uses a key or thumbturn. Do not order by appearance alone or remove a cylinder from a door you need to keep secure.
A cylinder that projects too far beyond its protective furniture may not be an appropriate fit. Provide photos of the existing handle and cylinder and discuss measurement during assessment rather than guessing dimensions.
Ask about the exact product
If you require a particular security standard, give us the written requirement. Terms such as anti-snap or a star rating should refer to the exact proposed product and supporting documentation, not a blanket claim about all replacement locks.
Tell us what you need and we'll recommend a suitable cylinder and confirm the price before we set off.
Consider how the door is used
Tell us whether the door is a main entrance, a shared door or an exit with specific building requirements. Discuss who needs keys and whether there are landlord or managing-agent restrictions.
If the handle will not lift or the door rubs against the frame, describe that separately. An upgraded cylinder does not automatically cure a mechanism or alignment fault. We'll confirm the work and price for your exact setup.
Your questions
Will an upgrade meet my insurance terms?
Give us your insurer's written specification and ask about the exact proposed product. We'll match the cylinder to the requirement.
Can I choose a thumbturn?
Discuss the door's use, compatibility and any building or landlord requirements first. We'll recommend the right setup for your door.
