Access help, not automatically a new key
If a working key is inside the car, you may need access rather than replacement. Tell us whether the key is visible, in the boot or thought to be elsewhere inside. Mention whether the vehicle has locked itself and whether any door is still open.
If no key can be found, explain that too: an all-keys-lost enquiry has a different scope from opening a vehicle. Avoid forcing the door or attempting improvised entry, which can create another problem to deal with.
Your exact location matters
Give the postcode and a useful parking description, such as the street, entrance, level or bay number. If you are in a paid car park, tell us about any closing time or access barrier. It helps us find you quickly.
If a person or animal is at immediate risk inside the vehicle, contact the appropriate emergency service rather than wait for a quote. If the vehicle is on a road, prioritise a safe place for yourself and any passengers.
Check the quote before agreeing the job
Our existing guidance lists vehicle lockout costs typically between £70 and £160, depending on location, time and vehicle type. We confirm your price before we set off, so there are no surprises.
Have the vehicle registration or make, model and year ready, and ask what proof of your authority to access the vehicle is required. Tell us if that evidence is inside the locked car so the situation can be discussed before arrival.
Your questions
How soon can you get here?
Call 07876 629522 with your exact location and we'll tell you when we can be with you. We're open 7 days, with late callouts until midnight.
What if the key is in the boot?
Mention that when you enquire, along with your vehicle details. The available access options depend on the vehicle.
