Starting and remote locking are different symptoms
Tell us whether the blade turns, the engine starts, the remote buttons work or an immobiliser warning appears. A remote-locking problem is not automatically a programming problem, and an engine that does not start is not automatically a faulty key.
Say whether another key works normally. That comparison can help the initial conversation, but it is not a substitute for checking the vehicle. Include the make, model, year and whether the key is an original, a replacement or one supplied separately.
Check compatibility before buying a key
Similar-looking fobs can have different electronic specifications. If you already bought a key, tell us where it came from and send any identifying details available. We'll tell you straight away if a supplied fob will work.
For a replacement supplied as part of the job, ask which starting, remote and keyless functions are included. Keep any working keys available and discuss what needs to be tested before work is agreed.
Book the right kind of help
If you have a working key and want another, use the spare-key enquiry. If every key is missing, use all keys lost. If the key will not turn mechanically, describe that symptom under ignition problems rather than requesting programming alone.
The quote depends on the vehicle, key and work required. There is no fixed standalone programming price published here. Send your postcode and vehicle details — we come to you.
Your questions
Can you program a key I bought online?
Send the vehicle and key details before booking. Compatibility and whether a supplied key can be used must be checked; we'll tell you honestly whether it will work.
Does programming fix every no-start problem?
No. Describe the symptoms and whether another key works. A no-start condition may have a cause outside the key or its programming.
